I hate being that customer who needs to return an $800 computer because of silly issues like these. I have about 10 days left on my return period on the desktop and the capture card is probably out of the return period. Unfortunately with Game Capture HD I'm running into problems with the software crashing and losing the videos, so Elgato has told me to try OBS to see whether the problem is their software, my deskptop, or the capture card. Not the "best" computer for gaming but I only really play games on Xbox, and it's PowerSpec so I can upgrade things if I need to. I bought a brand new desktop that I am using only for recording video with a 8-core AMD processor and a decent graphics card and a solid state drive. Elgato support told me that my previous issues could have been with my desktop (it's older but still passes the required specs) or it could be the software. (His had a volume knob on the bottom and he said his problem was that that volume knob was turned down.) I'm wondering why mine doesn't have these settings. When I click it I get a totally different menu than he did. I found one video where the user recommended clicking on "Advanced Audio Properties". In Game Capture HD what I would do is, set it to analog when I wanted to record game chat, but when I wanted to record party chat, I would set it to HDMI (I was able to record party chat without needing the chatlink cable.- I only need it for game chat.) Also, I am not recording ANY desktop audio.Ģ) I have a chat link cable that I use ONLY when I'm talking in game chat. ![]() I use a microphone and interface for my voice. To me it looks like it is configured properly. I have also selected the capture card as the audio device. ![]() I have followed some tutorials- I have selected "Use custom audio device" and picked my capture card from the dropdown menu. So far I am able to get my game audio and my desktop microphone audio, but not any game audio. I wanted to avoid using OBS because it doesn't seem as user friendly, but here we are. I was using game capture HD but Elgato support told me to use OBS instead as there were serious problems with Game Capture HD that had resulted in me losing hours of video.
